The community is invited to attend Framingham State University’s MLK Commemoration Lecture this month featuring Dr. Ilyasah Shabazz, daughter of Civil Rights Icon Malcolm X.

Dr. Shabazz is an Award-winning Author, Educator and Producer. 她是马尔科姆·艾克斯的主席 & Dr. Betty Shabazz Memorial and 教育al Center 校董会. In her work to preserve the legacy of her parents, she has dedicated herself to institution-building and intergenerational leadership development with the tenants of diversity, 股本, 和包容.

Dr. Shabazz holds a Master of Science in 教育 & Human Resource 发展 from Fordham University; a Bachelor of Science in 生物学 from SUNY @ New Paltz, and is an adjunct professor at John Jay College of Criminal Justice. In recognition of her outstanding achievements in Public Service, 教育, and The 艺术—Worcester State University conferred Ms. Shabazz with a degree of Doctor of Humane Letters. 作为首届多元化，公平 & 包容 Fellow, Shabazz teaches the course, "We The People." Grounded in the commitments of her parents, Dr. Shabazz emphasizes empowerment 和包容 in her teaching and scholarship.
